Spec of the driver
The sound of this driver unit is very appealing. If you’re the kind of listener who revels in unpicking fine detail and wants to examine every note in a recording, these driver units are ideal ones for DIY.
Take a close look
We highly recommend using this driver with our genuine wood headphone kit model B5 and B9 to 100% reproduce Meze 99 classic sound.
Note: the dynamic drivers have been paired to ensure sound and quality fully balanced between right and left channels. Therefore we don’t offer single unit.
Soldering: overheated (>250 degree C) soldering iron or overtime soldering (>2s) may permanently damage the driver. Please managed down both in your DIY.
- Installation: the driver has Sintered NdFeB Magnetic inside with extremely strong attraction power. Damage may caused by attracting anything hitting the fragile diaphragm.
- Others: applying high-voltage, storing in high temperature/humidity environment… all may cause unrecoverable damage.

Bought a cheap pair of Audio Technica ATH-M2X Headphones for $25 as they had a 40mm driver in them already and could easily swap out the drivers. I installed these drivers and now get wonderful rich sound. WARNING! There are no polarity markings on the back of these drivers (at least on mine). Right hand side when viewing from the rear is positive. Initially I had the polarity reversed and the drivers sounded like the cheap original drivers. I also used some plumbers putty around the outside of the area that houses the driver to add some stiffness to the cups housing.
Delivery was quick considering they came from China at less than 10 days. The company also included some free samples that I have not tried yet. The company is very quick with email replies should you need to contact them. I will keep these guys in mind for future purchases.

Thanks Brian, glad to hear the problem was well addressed.
BTW, shipping was actually delayed a few days due to China public holidays (national day from Oct.1 to 7), normally it is < 5 days.
